Role Summary
The Security Officer - Legends will work with Security Team Leaders to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, tenants, and visitors. Security Officers will execute a number of comprehensive and integrated security measures and countermeasures and must adapt physically to the changing needs and priorities of the Security Department.
Shift & Schedule
10:30am–8:30pm, Friday–Monday.
Days off: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday off
Salary
Salary is $22.20 per hour.
Responsibilities
Security Officers will be required to execute a number of comprehensive and integrated security measures and countermeasures and must be able to adapt physically to the changing needs and priorities of the Security Organization. Security posts will vary and may include exposure to varying weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
- Must possess agility, and visual and auditory acuity to perform the essential responsibilities of this position
- Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate calmly, effectively, and courteously in both emergency and non-emergency situations
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, typically for the duration of an 8-hour shift
- Must have a technical aptitude and willingness to learn how to perform security X-ray and screening procedures and use required equipment
- Knowledge of X-ray image recognition, Magnetometer alarm resolution, and related technologies preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework is a plus
- Must possess an in-force New York State Security Guard License (8 & 16 hours)
- New York City Fire Safety Certification preferred
