Responsibilities
The Teller II works in a TD Store location and plays a key role in delivering legendary customer experiences while processing everyday banking transactions with accuracy and efficiency, and educating customers on TD's products and services or referring them to a partner for specialized solutions.
- Executes TD's Brand promise to customers by consistently delivering a Legendary Customer experience in the Store
- Performs customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan and safe deposit box payments efficiently
- Processes cash transactions such as cashing checks, verifying currency, balancing cash drawer, and night deposits with high accuracy
- Responds to and resolves customer inquiries and concerns using standard procedures; escalates to management as necessary
- Engages in lobby leadership by orchestrating customer flow, warmly welcoming customers, and guiding appropriately
- Understands customer preferences with banking needs and educates customers on self-service/digital options
- Acts as an advocate for the customer by conducting needs-based conversations; offering financial & digital solutions or referring to an appropriate partner
- Trains and acts as a mentor to new Tellers
- Assists supervisors with daily duties as directed by Store leadership
- Ensures compliance with company guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act) to minimize risk and protect the customer
- Verifies customers' identities by following authentication policies & procedures
- Balances cash drawers, ATMs, and Teller Cash Dispensers/ Recyclers as necessary
- Adheres to safe deposit box procedures and guidelines
- Maintains cash drawers and vaults with appropriate cash limits and secure handling
- Protects confidential customer information and follows dual control
- Follows security and audit measures to minimize potential loss
- Utilizes bank tools and processes to detect, address, and prevent fraud
- Completes all required in-classroom and online training by established due dates
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year teller or cash handling experience preferred
- Demonstrated customer service skills preferred
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays as scheduled
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to function in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent
Physical Requirements
Physical demands and travel: Domestic travel – Occasional; International travel – Never. Occupies mostly sedentary work with continuous task engagement. Requires ability to perform multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, respond to sounds, sit, stand (continuous), walk (occasional), and perform other listed activities as part of daily duties.
