Overview
Marsh (Guy Carpenter) is seeking a talented Broker Support Technician to join our London team. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, hybrid in office with at least three days per week in the office, and flexible options to support parents returning to work or those seeking a better work‑life balance.
Role and Responsibilities
You will work within a small team specialising in the Credit, Bond & Political Risk Reinsurance market. The role requires client engagement and offers an opportunity for someone with experience in guarantees, credit, financial lines insurance, or similar insurance classes to develop a career in reinsurance. You will manage the end-to-end renewal lifecycle for assigned client accounts, coordinating between Brokers, Clients, Client Support Services (CSS), Compliance, and Reinsurers to ensure accurate and timely completion of placement, accounting, and documentation tasks.
What you will be responsible for
- Act as the central coordinator within client teams, maintaining full visibility of placement status and proactively resolving issues.
- Manage renewals from pre-placement through post-placement, including timelines, trackers, and market engagement.
- Support Brokers with submission packs, presentations, and renewal documentation.
- Track reinsurer quotes, lines, subjectivities, contracts, and responses.
- Maintain accurate records across core systems such as GC Marketplace, OpenTWINS, KCenter, and reporting tools.
- Coordinate drafting, review, and management of contracts, endorsements, and evidence of cover documentation.
- Oversee account and payment activities throughout the contract lifecycle, liaising with CSS and stakeholders.
- Organise and attend client and reinsurer meetings, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
- Support regular team meetings with concise progress updates and maintain strong working relationships across teams.
Requirements and Qualifications
What you need to have
- Experience in broker support, client service technician, or a similar role within insurance and reinsurance.
- Exposure to Credit, Bond, and/or Political Risk business is preferred.
- Strong understanding of reinsurance placement and renewal processes.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and engage with clients and reinsurers.

- Good understanding of reinsurance placement processes (QS and XoL) and accounts procedures.
- Familiarity with risk bordereaux processes and accounting bordereaux.
- Prior experience handling sanctions attestations and regulatory/compliance documentation.
- Proactive, collaborative, and client-focused approach with rigorous attention to documentation standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with strong stakeholder management skills.
