Job Overview

Macquarie Capital Principal Finance is the balance sheet investing arm of Macquarie Capital. This is a career-track role within the Private Credit team, focusing on private credit opportunities (primarily unitranche financings, as well as second lien debt, HoldCo PIK loans, and mezzanine debt or preferred equity). The role is designed to develop into a leadership path with opportunities to originate deals and lead initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify, analyze, execute, and manage attractive risk/return investment opportunities.
  • Lead diligence conversations with internal teams, counterparties, and external experts.
  • Present in meetings, including investment committee discussions.
  • Gather data from diverse sources to support investment theses with an evidence-based approach.
  • Prepare robust analyses including financial models, quality of earnings analysis, and KPI analysis.
  • Distill information into succinct investment committee memos and external presentations.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range for this position: $120,000 – $210,000 per year. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. What You Offer

  • 1–4 years of experience in full-service M&A, capital markets, and/or investing.
  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude with extensive exposure to business analysis/research and financial modelling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
