Field Service Technician

Overview
As a Field Service Technician, you will classify customer-reported problems using sub-resolution, system, and keywords. You will meet specified timelines according to case priority, identify and monitor recurring issues for documentation and escalation to Engineering, and contribute to maintaining a compliant desktop environment by repairing and performing preventative maintenance on personal computers and related systems.
Responsibilities
- Meet timelines according to priority:
- Priority 1 – contact customer immediately and begin working on the problem as soon as possible.
- Priority 2 – contact customer within 1 hour, begin working on the problem within 2 hours.
- Priority 3 – contact customer within 12 hours, begin working on the problem within 24 hours.
- Provide detailed daily incident documentation to keep customers and co-workers informed of incident status.
- Update and refer to the Worldwide Knowledgebase and the Field Services Best Practice Library. Read technical articles to stay current on common fixes and bugs.
- Support uptime targets by properly classifying workstations by Managed Level, PC Type, Windows patch level, and up-to-date antivirus systems.
- Perform installations, upgrades, and backups of software and hardware applications.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware failures, and identify network issues related to PCs.
- Provide high-level customer service.
- The role operates on a permanent day shift schedule (8:00 am–5:30 pm, Monday to Friday). The candidate should be willing to support alternative shift arrangements based on business needs.

What We Look For
Strong customer service skills, ability to classify and document incidents accurately, and capability to perform hardware/software maintenance and upgrades on PCs and related systems. Experience with troubleshooting and resolving software and hardware failures, and basic network problem identification related to PCs, is preferred.
