About the AIG and Talbot Early Career Programme

AIG’s Summer Interns are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, global insurance company. During the 8-week program, you will gain valuable, hands-on experience and insurance industry knowledge, working with leaders on dynamic projects with plenty of opportunity for challenges, learning, and achievement.

Summer Interns join one of our key business teams, offering a unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse environment. In addition to meaningful on-the-job experiences, interns will join instructor-led masterclasses, hear directly from senior leaders, and build meaningful connections through mentoring circles, networking events, and volunteering.

Following completion of the internship program, interns may be considered for a permanent role in the Graduate Analyst program beginning in September 2028.

What You’ll Do

Portfolio Analysis is one of the key pillars of Talbot’s planning and performance framework. The team supports underwriting strategy, portfolio performance management, and business planning through data-driven analysis and market insight. During your internship, you'll gain exposure to how we evaluate performance, identify growth opportunities, and support underwriting decision-making.

Some of the primary responsibilities include:

• Support the analysis of performance across classes of business.
• Assist in identifying trends, opportunities, and emerging risks.
• Help prepare management reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Learn how performance is monitored against business plans and strategic objectives.
• Contribute to competitor and market intelligence research projects.
• Work closely with colleagues across underwriting, actuarial, and finance teams.
• Support portfolio management and performance development initiatives.

• Participate in training sessions, networking events, and mentoring opportunities.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2028.
• Studying a quantitative, analytical, business, or related discipline is preferred.
• Previous work or volunteering experience in any industry or sector.
• Evidence of extra-curricular activities.
• A collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Motivated, proactive, and willing to learn.
