KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern, Risk Services to join our Advisory practice.
Responsibilities
- Support client engagements focused on financial risk management, including evaluation of model, credit, market, liquidity risk, regulatory interpretation, stress scenario design, and risk metric calibration.
- Develop, test, validate, and document financial and risk models, including financial risk, forecasting, and stress testing frameworks.
- Analyze large datasets using tools and coding languages such as Excel, SQL, R, or Python to generate insights, dashboards, and key risk indicators for internal and client use. Conduct risk analysis by reviewing financials, exposures, and portfolio performance, while monitoring adherence to policies and regulatory expectations.
- Assist in the development, testing, and production of management, board, and regulatory reporting and related deliverables. Evaluate client processes, controls, and governance frameworks against regulatory requirements and leading practices.
- Document risk policies, procedures, controls, and governance frameworks to support client compliance and operational effectiveness. Build and enhance analytical tools and solutions that enable clients to optimize capital and liquidity usage in alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Utilize artificial intelligence tools and techniques to consume large data sets and interpret, review, and effectively challenge output.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Quantitative Analysis, Computer Information Systems, or an equivalent program from an accredited college or university.
- Must have a current or most recent GPA of 3.00 or above.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, banking, financial products, and accounting.
- Fluency with artificial intelligence concepts and tools, including OpenAI, Anthropic, LLMs, Agent, and Co-work capabilities with the ability to apply AI techniques to analyze and interpret data, using insights to solve problems and effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and the ability to work with large datasets; data/programming skills are a strong plus.
- Strong in technical skills, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Work Details & Legal Requirements:
- Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need. If working remotely, you must be located within the U.S. Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
