KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern, Risk Services – Technology for our Advisory practice.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Cybersecurity and Technology Risk client engagements by executing assigned tasks aligned with engagement objectives.
- Identify and remediate complex business, technology, and cyber challenges utilizing KPMG frameworks and methodologies, including the application of artificial intelligence and automation tools in client projects.
- Research and understand topics, concepts, tools, and processes related to technology risk and cybersecurity to support client delivery.
- Provide support across various areas, such as: identity & access management, GRC, design/implementation of infrastructure/platform/software security, IT risk and security assessment (including major enterprise applications like SAP, Oracle, Workday, ServiceNow and technical infrastructure), data protection and privacy impact assessment, data classification/information governance, enterprise information security strategy, compliance monitoring and user awareness campaigns, data leakage/content monitoring/filtering, data encryption, and compliance readiness.
- Develop and implement specialized risk management strategies tailored to technology environments, including cybersecurity risk assessments and incident response plans.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to align risk analysis with technology strategies and ensure risk management measures are integrated into technology operations.
- Research and stay updated on emerging technology risks and industry best practices to provide proactive recommendations for risk mitigation and continuous improvement in technology systems and processes.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports and presentations regarding technology risks and recommended solutions to clients and internal teams, ensuring information is accessible and actionable.
- Operate with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Analytics, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, IT/Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must maintain a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Proficiency with artificial intelligence concepts and tools, with the ability to apply AI techniques to analyze and interpret data, using insights to solve problems, and effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills; demonstrated ability to achieve strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI, and quickly learn KPMG tools and client applications.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity.
- Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for personal transportation to/from office/client locations as required.
- Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business needs. If remote, the candidate must be located within the U.S. Client site locations may require travel and extended stays.

Compensation and Culture
KPMG LLP and its affiliates comply with all local/state regulations regarding salary range display. Offered salary is determined by various factors, including skills, responsibilities, experience, education, and market considerations. KPMG offers a comprehensive, competitive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision plans, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plans, and personal well-being benefits. Personal Time Off is provided annually, in addition to company-observed holidays and two pre-scheduled breaks per year.
For salary range transparency, please refer to the provided links or note that the California Salary Range is $78,000 - $100,000.
