Advisory Intern, Risk Services

KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern, Risk Services for our Advisory practice.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a wide range of client engagements across industries (including financial services and government), supporting strategy, operating model design, transformation initiatives, implementation, testing, remediation, and enterprise risk management.
• Assess and enhance client compliance and risk management programs, including regulatory compliance, consumer protection, governance frameworks, and enterprise risk processes.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis using structured problem-solving approaches, translating complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for clients.
• Gather and evaluate information through client interviews, documentation review, system queries, and internal and external research to support project delivery.
• Develop and deliver clear, concise, and high-quality client communications, including reports, presentations, and executive-ready materials.
• Support the design and implementation of innovative, technology-enabled solutions (e.g., data analytics, machine learning, and advanced tools) aligned to client strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to execute solutions that span risk, compliance, operations, technology, and business functions.
• Contribute to practice and business development initiatives, including thought leadership, strategic growth efforts, training, and internal practice activities.
• Manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables effectively while adapting to evolving client needs and identifying solutions to challenges.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Management/Administration, Accounting, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering, Risk Management, Law, Political Science, or an equivalent program from an accredited college or university.
• Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.00 or above.
• Coursework or experience with data analysis techniques such as Tableau or Qlikview is required. An understanding of programming languages (SAS, SQL, Python) is a plus. Must have proficiency in MS Office applications and the ability to work with large datasets; data/programming skills are a strong plus.
• Fluency with artificial intelligence concepts and tools, with the ability to apply AI techniques to analyze and interpret data, using insights to solve problems, and effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong in technical acumen, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for own transportation (personal vehicle or public transportation) to get to and from office/client locations to satisfactorily fulfill job duties, as determined by practice leadership.
• Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need. Must be located within the U.S. when working remotely. Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
