Associate Legal Counsel, Immediate Starter

About This Role

We are looking for an exceptional lawyer based in Hong Kong to join our growing global Legal team. The Legal team is a dynamic, external- and internal-facing function that supports all aspects of the business across all nine offices.

What You'll Do

You will handle a broad range of work at a global scale, including multi-jurisdictional challenges:

• Negotiate contracts with clients and vendors.
• Work closely with the Client Services team and clients’ legal and compliance teams to ensure clients can access knowledge safely.
• Draft and implement internal policies and procedures to appropriately manage risk.
• Develop and deliver legal and compliance training to the business.
• Address evolving areas of law, including intellectual property, data privacy, technology, sanctions and regulatory compliance, employment, and taxation.

As Associate Legal Counsel, you will work closely with the Legal and Compliance team, as well as senior business leaders across our global offices. You will navigate complex and novel legal issues in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling business while developing your expertise in a high-growth commercial environment.

We will provide autonomy and independence in your day-to-day work, along with the opportunity to take initiative, drive change, and manage and lead projects. This role is ideal for someone seeking direct access to and exposure to the commercial and organizational workings of a dynamic, innovative global business.

Technical Qualifications

• BA, BS, LLB, or another relevant law degree from a top university.
• Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or Mainland China; dual qualification is preferred.
• At least one year of experience at a top law firm or in-house.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin is essential.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Track record of achievement in professional and academic activities.
