About the Role

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineering Intern to help build the web applications, embedded web experiences, and mini-games that bring Gist to life.

You will work across frontend interfaces and backend services, transforming product ideas into fast, reliable, and easy-to-use experiences. Your work will span responsive web pages, experiences embedded inside the mobile app via WebViews, and lightweight interactive games. You will own features from implementation through launch with guidance from experienced engineers, and collaborate directly with product and design teams on future features.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain responsive web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue.
• Develop web experiences that run smoothly inside mobile WebViews, accounting for different screen sizes, devices, and platform behavior.
• Build and integrate lightweight mini-games and interactive features, including their respective interfaces and backend services.
• Develop and maintain backend APIs and database integrations that power product features.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and mobile engineers to translate requirements into working features and manage delivery through release.
• Improve product performance, stability, and the overall user experience across web and in-app surfaces.
• Write maintainable, tested code, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot issues across the frontend and backend.
• Own and ship at least one significant project by the end of the internship that is used by real users.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and available for a full-time internship in Singapore during Summer 2027.
• Strong foundations in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript, including responsive layouts and understanding actual browser behavior.
• Hands-on experience with a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue, gained through coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or previous internships.
• Exposure to backend development in at least one language, with a working understanding of APIs and relational or non-relational databases.
• Strong computer science fundamentals across data structures and algorithms, networking, and databases.
• Evidence of shipping something end-to-end (e.g., a side project, hackathon build, school project, or a tool used by peers).
• A thoughtful approach to debugging and testing, resulting in code that is easy for others to read.
• Strong ownership mindset, clear communication skills, and the initiative to ask questions early and see deliverables through to completion.
• A genuine commitment to the small details that make consumer products feel intuitive and responsive.

Good To Have Skills

• Projects involving cross-platform web applications, mini-apps, or embedded web experiences.
• Familiarity with mobile WebViews, communication between web content and native apps, or platform SDK integrations.
• Experience building HTML5 games or interactive browser experiences using Canvas, WebGL, or a game framework such as Phaser or PixiJS.
• Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and exposure to caching or message queue systems (e.g., Redis, Kafka).
• Hands-on experience with Go, Java, or Python on the backend.
• Interest in product analytics, feature experiments, or consumer social products.
• Experience using AI coding tools (such as Claude Code or Cursor), including careful review and validation of generated code.
• A public GitHub profile, portfolio, or live demo link.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
