About AppLovin
AppLovin makes technologies that help businesses of every size connect to their ideal customers. The company provides end-to-end advertising solutions for businesses to reach, monetize, and grow their global audiences. For more information, visit www.applovin.com.
AppLovin’s global team includes people with diverse life experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives that mirror its developers and customers around the world. The company is intentional about building its team and culture, seeking candidates who are outstanding in their own right and demonstrate support for others.
At AppLovin, the future of social platforms isn’t just about entertainment—it’s about meaningful value exchange. We are building a next-generation global content platform that empowers people to turn real-life experiences into inspiring, useful stories that help others grow. This isn’t another short-form video app. It’s a platform where authentic sharing matters—where people from diverse backgrounds and life stages can contribute, find content they actually need, and be rewarded for the value they create.
Backed by AppLovin’s technology, data capabilities, and global reach, we are a small, high-caliber founding team building this from the ground up—and we’re looking for a Product Manager Intern for Summer 2027 who wants to be part of it from the earliest days.
About the Team
Our product team sits at the intersection of user behavior, content ecosystems, and data. We debate ideas rigorously, take ownership seriously, and move with startup speed. As a PM intern, you won’t be running meeting notes or maintaining backlogs. You will be embedded in a real product area—user growth, content contribution, discovery, or creator incentives—working alongside PMs, engineers, and designers on problems that directly shape the platform’s trajectory.
About Gist
Gist is a new social media platform for people who want substance—practical, thoughtful content spanning philosophy debates, city-specific recommendations, seasonal gift guides, and wellness tips. Across categories like travel, food, career, and family, Gist is described as “a handbook for the curious.”
Gist is built by AppLovin Corporation—a company that hit $5.3B in revenue last year and sits alongside Google and Meta as one of the world’s leading ad tech platforms. Fortune recognizes AppLovin as one of the Best Workplaces in the Bay Area, and the company has been a Certified Great Place to Work for the last four years (2021–2024).
What You'll Do
- Own a focused internship project within a defined product area—from problem framing and user research through to spec, execution, and measurement.
- Conduct user research and synthesize behavioral insights to surface clear, actionable product opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to define requirements, align on trade-offs, and ship features iteratively.
- Analyze product metrics and experiment results to form a point of view on what’s working and what isn’t.
- Contribute to discussions on content growth, contributor incentives, or discovery—with your own perspective, not just support work.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or above in any field. Computer Science, Business, Cognitive Science, Economics, and related disciplines are welcome.
- Strong user empathy and genuine curiosity about why people share content, what makes it valuable, and how platforms shape behavior.
- Comfortable working with data—you can form a hypothesis, look at numbers critically, and update your thinking based on what you find.
- Clear communicator who can articulate a problem, trade-off, or recommendation to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excited about building in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the product is still being defined.
Good To Have
- Any prior experience in product, strategy, growth, UX research, or data analysis—internships, coursework projects, or student org work all count.
- Familiarity with product tools such as Figma, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or SQL.
- Personal interest in content platforms, creator ecosystems, community products, or social apps—and a considered opinion on what makes them work or fail.
- Exposure to experimentation concepts (A/B testing, metric frameworks, funnel analysis).
