About this Role
As an Intern in our Product Management team, you will work closely with senior product managers and a diverse range of stakeholders across our commercial, marketing, operations, and engineering teams. You will play an important role in the definition and execution of product analysis, design, documentation, rollout, and optimization across various features and initiatives, ultimately contributing to valuable solutions for our customers and merchants and the growth of ShopBack’s network.
This position is open for H1 2027 (December/Jan - Jun/July) applications. Please note that we are only seeking interns who can commit on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:30 pm).
Your Responsibilities
- Work with product managers and commercial partners to identify factors affecting product/feature performance and growth; refine KPIs and success metrics to track product performance by deconstructing product strategy, goals, and value propositions.
- Provide analytics support to product initiatives in associated business functions, including creating business cases to justify actions.
- Champion a better user experience by:
- Being the voice of users with generated insights.
- Collectively shaping and prioritizing feature decisions with quantitative input.
- Taking ownership on metrics and tracking to improve UX.
- Collaborate with PMs and local commercial partners to explore, recommend, and drive alternative solutions end-to-end based on use cases and prioritization.
- Capture requirements from different stakeholders for new features, providing both a summary and the necessary detail to ensure feature success.
What We Are Looking For
Essentials to Succeed
- Ability to document, clarify, and break down processes into logical steps, and communicate these processes effectively in writing or via flow charts.
- Strong problem-solving ability by breaking down complex problems into component parts.
- Capacity to communicate succinctly, with clarity and thoughtfulness.
- Ability to provide actionable feedback on user interface and user experience designs.
- Ability to interpret data and identify patterns to make hypothesis-driven decisions.
- Proactive self-learning through reading documentation and seeking domain experts.
- AI Competency: Demonstrated use of AI tools not only to accelerate personal workflows but also to build tools, agents, or automations that others can rely on. Comfortable prototyping or building small tools/automations to solve real workflow problems, even without an engineering background.
- Ability to commit for a minimum of 6 months, full time.
- Proficiency in using SQL is required; familiarity with software development processes is a plus.
ShopBacker Traits
We value candidates who embody the following traits:
- Agency: We take ownership and act, rather than waiting for permission. When something is blocking progress, we find a way through it and follow through until it's done.
- Judgement: We aim for high-impact decisions, not just easy wins, putting the bigger picture ahead of individual interests. This means moving quickly and confidently while remaining thoughtful about when a decision is truly critical.
- Learning Velocity: We pick up new skills fast and let go of old habits just as quickly when something better comes along. We benchmark ourselves against the best and constantly raise our own bar.
- Tenacity: We stay committed when things get hard, maintaining composure under pressure. We debate openly before deciding, then commit fully while supporting each other along the way.
What's in it for ShopBackers
- Career growth opportunities to take on greater challenges that help you realize your ambitions.
- The chance to be part of a winning team on a journey to global scale.
- Competitive compensation based on performance.
