As a Solutions Architect at Amazon, you will partner directly with customers to design and deliver cloud-based solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. You will work at the intersection of technology and business strategy, translating customer needs into well-architected designs that are secure, reliable, and cost-effective.

This role is ideal for a curious, collaborative technologist who enjoys learning and wants to build expertise in cloud computing architecture while making a meaningful impact. You will gain hands-on experience designing solutions, contributing to technical content, and developing trusted relationships with customers, while growing your career alongside experienced architects who are invested in your development.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Work with customers to architect cloud solutions where the business objective, opportunity, and strategy are defined; own the design and delivery of solution components and make appropriate trade-off decisions across load distribution, data store selection, scaling strategy, and failover mechanisms.
• Collaborate with customer technical teams to dive deeply into design choices, best practices, and use cases; participate in constructive discussions that help customers understand both opportunities and risks associated with their technical decisions.
• Apply design best practices for security, reliability, cost optimization, operational excellence, and performance efficiency; recognize when to leverage existing solutions and when custom approaches are needed.
• Contribute to the development, delivery, and maintenance of technical content—including sample code, presentations, and workshops—to educate customers and share best practices.
• Partner with internal teams such as Sales, Business Development, and Engineering to progress customer opportunities through their lifecycle and provide actionable product feedback through appropriate channels.

A Day in the Life

You might start your morning reviewing a customer's architecture proposal and preparing recommendations that balance performance and cost. Later, you join a technical deep-dive with a customer team to walk through design options for a new workload migration. After lunch, you collaborate with a more senior architect to refine a solution design and gain practical insight into long-term architectural implications. You wrap up by drafting a blog post that captures a recent technical pattern you helped implement.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++.
• Experience with two or more of the following: networking fundamentals, security, storage or databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, or Windows).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution.
• Experience in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering, or DevOps.
