Marketing and Communications

Brief Overview

The Marketing and Communications Team drives the company’s image, promotes its offerings, and manages relationships with all stakeholders. The team develops and executes cohesive strategies that communicate the company’s value to both internal and external audiences.

Learning Objectives

This internship provides end-to-end, hands-on experience across the full suite of Marketing and Communications initiatives. You will also gain insight into the energy and electricity sector through practical experience in:

• Social Media Management and Digital Engagement
• Corporate Branding and Public Awareness
• Internal and External Communications Strategy
• Event Planning and Execution
• Content Creation and Copywriting

Job Description

The intern will primarily assist in enhancing EMC’s public awareness and digital presence. Key responsibilities include:

• Social Media Management: Assist with content creation, scheduling, and execution of posts for key corporate platforms, with a special focus on LinkedIn.
• Website Content: Support the team in updating and managing content on the company website to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Internal Communications: Assist in drafting and coordinating internal announcements.
• External Communications: Support the team with media monitoring, website updates, and stakeholder communications.
• Event Support: Provide logistical and communications support for various company events (e.g., networking functions and internal events).
• General Administrative Support: Assist the Communications Team with other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements / Ideal Characteristics

• Communications Skills (Must): Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Social Media Management (Must): Knowledge of best practices for corporate social media platforms, especially LinkedIn content creation and scheduling.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Detail Oriented: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
