Overview

Evercore seeks to hire investment banking Summer Associates for its New York Restructuring & Debt Advisory group. Evercore’s differentiated approach allows Summer Associates to work closely with senior bankers on industry-transforming transactions around the world.

Program Responsibilities

As part of the program, Summer Associates will work on a variety of assignments, including:

• In-court and out-of-court restructurings and recapitalizations
• Exchanges, tenders, and other liability management transactions
• Distressed M&A transactions
• Non-syndicated capital raises

As a member of the project team, individuals will be responsible for tasks including:

• Preparing for and attending client meetings
• Financial modeling
• Resolving complex accounting issues
• Analyzing financial statements and credit documents
• Performing valuation analysis
• Conducting industry analysis and due diligence
• Supporting new business development

Team and Client Interaction

The small deal team structure provides a strong learning platform across restructuring and debt advisory, with the ability to assume high levels of responsibility early in one’s career. Summer Associates will have a high level of interaction with all parties involved in transactions and will help manage relationships across law firms, consultants, accounting firms, creditors, and other investment banks.

Role Responsibilities

• Managing analysts
• Overseeing financial and valuation analysis
• Resolving complex financial and accounting issues
• Conducting industry and competitive analysis
• Supporting due diligence
• Drafting client presentations
• Helping manage and execute live deal situations
• Assisting with new business development

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates should have strong interest in investment banking, with solid quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to think broadly about strategic issues facing clients. Knowledge of accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy is necessary.

Specific Qualifications

• Be a current First Year MBA student from a top business school or a current 2L from a top law school
• Several years of relevant work experience
• Strong grasp of corporate finance, valuation, and financial accounting
• Superior analytical skills and demonstrated excellence in academic coursework
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to articulate ideas
• Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong work ethic
• Enthusiastic, outgoing, and achievement-oriented character
• Sound judgment and intellectual curiosity
• Excellent presentation skills
