Corporate Finance

The Houlihan Lokey Corporate Finance business has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defense, and other related advisory services for a broad range of clients. The group also engineers and executes financing solutions essential for growth and success, with access to financing in public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities. In EMEA, the team works with a wide spectrum of companies, from middle-market privately owned enterprises to large multinational organizations.

Digital Infrastructure, Technology

The Digital Infrastructure team at Houlihan Lokey sits within the firm’s global Technology business. The London-based team covers best-in-market Digital Infrastructure transactions across Europe, with significant coverage and expertise in asset-heavy verticals such as Fibre, Data Centres, and Towers, as well as asset-lite topics like Cloud Communications and ICT Services.

Scope

The Digital Infrastructure team is looking to add a Financial Analyst in London. The environment is collegial and entrepreneurial, with teamwork essential to the firm’s success and creativity and new ideas encouraged.

Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst, you will:

  • Prepare, analyze, and help explain historical and projected financial information
  • Create financial models
  • Coordinate and perform business due diligence
  • Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches, and other presentations
  • Conduct research on sectors, companies, and potential buyers
  • Value companies and businesses
  • Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients, and professional advisors
  • Assist in planning of engagements

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate thinks strategically and is motivated, detail-oriented, creative, and outgoing, with excellent quantitative skills. Candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Strong academic track record and achieved at least a 2:1 Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • 1–2 years of full-time investment banking experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A); experience in the TECH/Digital Infrastructure sector is favorably regarded
  • Demonstrable experience executing sell-side transactions
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory
  • Excellent understanding of financial statement analysis, including the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
  • Excellent understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a highly organized manner
  • An independent, solutions-focused mindset
  • An exceptional work ethic
  • Fluency in a European language is strongly favorable (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian)
