The Intern, Investment & Valuation, Summer 2027 will be a key member of our Investment & Valuation (I&V) team, bringing renewable energy projects forward for investment decisions at RWE Americas (RWEA). The I&V team enables value-added growth by providing analysis and critical advice to colleagues in the business while ensuring strong governance around investment decisions.

The Intern will work closely with the I&V team and with colleagues across the Finance community and the broader Renewables business. The team environment is high-energy, and we value diversity, good relationships, personal growth, inclusive debate, and individual empowerment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the strong growth ambitions of our Renewables business (including utility-scale solar PV, onshore wind, battery storage, and hydrogen) in the Americas.
  • Support the development of quantitative and qualitative analyses of investment opportunities and effectively communicate results.
  • Collect and ensure the completeness and validity of inputs to investment decisions, especially inputs that are key to valuation results.
  • Support investment decision processes, including preparation of papers and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors at RWEA.
  • Support identifying and implementing improvements to investment processes and valuation models, including the use of digital solutions.
  • Support internal ad-hoc projects with direct senior management involvement.
  • Support other members of the I&V team as required, including quality control reviews.

Job Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or similar university degree, or graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Knowledge of valuation methodologies (especially DCF) and financial modeling (Excel) required.
  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Interest in renewable energy or energy markets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organization skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Responds well to direction; easy to challenge and develop; coachable.
  • Detail-oriented; strong business acumen and understanding of business concepts.
  • Office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWEA offices and field locations.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.

Pay Range

The hourly base salary range for this position in New York is $25.00 - $35.00 for undergraduates and $30.00 - $40.00 for graduates. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S. locations. Salary is a general guideline only and may consider factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate education and work experience, training and certifications, key skills, and market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
