Cybersecurity Awareness & Training Intern

Internship Period

11 January 2027 – 30 June 2027

Job Description

MUFG is seeking a proactive and motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join the Regional Technology Information Security Team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to cybersecurity awareness, training, and governance activities across the APAC region, with opportunities to contribute to global initiatives that strengthen the Bank’s overall cybersecurity posture.

This role is ideal for students who are eager to learn, interested in exploring new technologies, and comfortable using Microsoft’s suite of products to support cyber awareness content, data analysis, reporting, and communication. As part of the cybersecurity governance function, you will gain insight into how cybersecurity teams operate—how policies are shaped, risks are assessed, controls are monitored, and how a global bank manages its security responsibilities.

You will work closely with teams across APAC, gaining real-world experience in how cybersecurity is executed and governed within a leading global financial institution, while also contributing creative ideas to help enhance the bank’s user cybersecurity awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support cybersecurity governance and reporting activities by preparing management reports, presentations, and related documentation, while maintaining updated cybersecurity resources and content on SharePoint.
  • Assist in delivering cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives across APAC and globally, including support for simulated user-testing activities, awareness communications, cyber newsletters, and related campaigns.
  • Help coordinate awareness activities such as cyber workshops with security teams and Cyber Awareness Month events.
  • Participate in organizing cybersecurity forums, meetings, and team events, providing support with logistics, documentation, and follow-ups.
  • Create and design awareness content, including slides, posters, newsletters, and simple visual materials to help communicate cybersecurity messages effectively.
  • Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies, and share insights that support awareness content, training materials, and team discussions.

Job Requirements

  • Students currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computing, Information Technology, Communication Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate) would be an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity awareness content such as newsletters or campaign materials.
  • Understanding of technical evaluations of emerging cybersecurity tools and technologies.
