Programme Description

PJT Partners is a global advisory-focused investment bank. Our senior professionals deliver strategic advisory, shareholder advisory, restructuring and special situations, and private fund advisory and placement services to corporations, financial sponsors, institutional investors, and governments worldwide. Through PJT Park Hill, we also provide private fund advisory and fundraising services for alternative investment managers, including private equity funds, real estate funds, and hedge funds.

The Summer internship is a 10-week programme that begins with orientation and financial training before interns join their teams.

Summer Analysts in London will have the opportunity to work across the Strategic Advisory Group and the Restructuring and Special Situations Group.

Strategic Advisory Group

The Strategic Advisory Group consists of one of the most experienced investment banking teams in the industry and has been involved in some of the largest, most complex transactions of the past twenty years. Our global team focuses on a diverse set of industries, including financial institutions, healthcare, industrials, energy, power & utilities, real estate, and technology, media & telecommunications.

Restructuring and Special Situations Group

The Restructuring and Special Situations Group advises large companies, governments, and creditor groups in financially distressed situations. The group has been involved in most of the largest and most high-profile reorganizations that have occurred in the last decade. In restructuring transactions, a wide range of strategic advisory services are provided, including advice on recapitalizations, reorganizations, corporate valuations, exchange offers, distressed mergers and acquisitions, and raising debt and equity capital.

Responsibilities

Summer Analysts will work on a wide range of transactions, including sell-sides, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, recapitalizations, private placements, and leveraged buyouts. Summer Analysts are expected to be involved in the development, structuring, and financing of transactions, and will have the opportunity to attend internal and client meetings, negotiations, and due diligence sessions.

• Financial analysis and modeling
• Drafting client presentations
• Preparing memoranda for internal and external use
• Conducting financial and other business-related research
• Coordinating complex and often time-sensitive processes
• Assisting in the execution of transactions
• Actively participating in client-facing situations

Qualifications

PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have excellent academic, leadership, and extracurricular records. Qualified candidates will have:

• Outstanding qualitative, technical, and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Aptitude to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong work ethic and ability to work well under pressure
• Basic knowledge of accounting and corporate finance

Requirements

To be considered for the 2027 Summer Analyst Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Currently enrolled as a full-time university student
• Anticipated graduation date: Winter 2027 – Summer 2028
