Internship Program Overview

GlobalFoundries (GF) interns and co-ops are an entry-level talent pipeline across the globe. Summary of Role

This internship supports an Industrial Engineering Productivity Study through data analysis, streamlining business processes, and automating reporting. Wafer fabrication in foundry is fundamental to the semiconductor supply chain, making productivity study critical to achieving optimal wafer output during manufacturing processes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Automate and streamline business processes, including factory data extraction, preparation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Establish mathematical models to capture, predict, and manage tool performance across different tool types.
  • Prepare and conduct audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Analyze manufacturing and operational data to identify productivity improvement opportunities and recommend data-driven solutions.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner, and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Education – Actively pursuing a Bachelors degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering, OR Mechanical Engineering, OR Computer Science Engineering, OR a related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
  • Available for a 16–24 week credit-bearing internship commencing January 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills—ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter, and ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Power BI, and SQL.
