Power Your Future: Elevate Program (Early Career)

Power Your Future: Elevate is RSM’s premier early career program for high-performing accounting students who are leaders on their campuses and in their communities, with a passion for learning and growth.

Through a dynamic three-day leadership conference and a year-long development experience, participants will build lasting relationships with RSM professionals and peers from across the country while strengthening critical skills in communication, collaboration, business acumen, executive presence, technology, and professional networking. Elevate also provides opportunities to deepen industry knowledge, enhance leadership capabilities, and build the confidence needed to make an immediate impact in your internship and future career.

Conference

Participate in a three-day leadership conference in one of RSM’s major office locations from January 5–8, 2027. All travel and expenses for conference participation will be covered by RSM upon admittance into the program.

Continued Development

After completion of the Elevate conference, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in continued development experiences designed to accelerate your professional growth through experiences that build the skills, relationships, and business acumen needed to succeed at RSM and beyond.

Program Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in accounting.
  • Anticipated full-time associate start date of Fall 2029 or Winter 2030.
  • Demonstrated involvement and leadership in student organizations on campus and in your community.
  • Team player with strong communication skills; motivated to work in a fast-paced environment with a desire to be client focused and learn how to provide skilled advisory services.
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA (preferred).

Risk Consulting – Process Risk & Controls (Summer 2028 Internship)

As a Risk Consulting Intern at RSM, you will work with businesses of various sizes across diverse industries and receive hands-on client experience with direct access to clients at different management levels. At the start of your internship, you will be assigned a “Performance Advisor” who will support your development throughout the experience.

RSM’s Risk Consulting Group provides value-added risk assessment services. You will be exposed to a wide variety of industries and clients. Examples of project work include internal audits, SOX/compliance work, and financial reporting control projects intended to provide clients with timely information on business operations and methods to mitigate potential risks.

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Attend client meetings and support consulting project work.
  • Prepare reports on consulting services performed for clients; deliver reports where appropriate and discuss results and recommendations with clients.
  • Travel to client locations as requested to provide consulting services.
  • Complete client projects efficiently in accordance with project timelines and critical dates.
  • Use proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to analyze client information and document results and recommendations.
  • Attend relevant conferences, trainings, and meetings to continue professional development.

Internship & Program Requirements

  • 90 credit hours completed (at the point of internship).
  • Working toward a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Major in Accounting.
  • Travel to assigned client locations may be required. Must have access to and ability to arrange reliable transportation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Strong multitasking and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism.
  • CPA certification or working toward CPA (preferred, but not required).
