What You’ll Do
- Support the development and optimization of ink manufacturing and chemical processing operations through automation, data analysis, and manufacturing systems.
- Assist engineers in monitoring and troubleshooting manufacturing processes, equipment, and process control systems (exposure to Rockwell Automation systems is an advantage).
- Participate in laboratory and production trials to evaluate process parameters, material performance, and product quality.
- Assist in developing and executing test plans, collecting data, and analyzing results to support process improvements and problem-solving.
- Support the validation of raw material specifications against finished product requirements to improve quality, productivity, and manufacturing consistency.
- Document operating procedures, process changes, test results, and engineering findings while maintaining accurate records and data logs.
- Contribute to root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing performance, quality, and yield optimization.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and technical summaries to communicate project outcomes and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations Technology.
- Gain exposure to equipment systems, process instrumentation, mechanical and electrical components, and manufacturing technologies used in chemical processing environments.
- Explore applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Industrial IoT, and digital manufacturing technologies to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Support sustainability, quality, and safety initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science / Food Processing, Materials Science, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Able to commit to a 5–6 month full-time internship starting in January 2027.
- Basic understanding of chemical processing, manufacturing operations, process engineering, or product formulation through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Interest in chemical manufacturing, process optimization, quality systems, and industrial operations.
- Familiarity with laboratory practices, data collection, and scientific problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Exposure to Statistical Process Control (SPC), data analysis, or visualization tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP, ERP systems, AI, Data Analytics, Industrial IoT, or digital manufacturing concepts is advantageous.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, pumps, instrumentation, PLCs, control systems, robotics, or automation technologies is beneficial.
- Understanding of safe laboratory and manufacturing practices, including EHS, PPE, GMP, ISO standards, or chemical handling principles is desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
