• Work Structure: Onsite/Hybrid. Full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the co-op/intern term.

What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role, you will:

• Work closely with software engineers to build and maintain software applications.
• Receive training on the full software creation process, from design and build to testing and deployment.
• Build scripts to automate parts of the software development process.
• Learn debugging methodologies to investigate and resolve root-cause issues.
• Contribute to crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed on certain projects.

Who We Are Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a US-based university in a Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge and/or experience in relevant technical areas (or related areas), such as:
  • Software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • C/C++ and scripting languages like Python, Windows PowerShell, Linux shell scripting, Perl, Java, JavaScript, and UML
  • UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • Databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
  • Cloud computing platforms (Azure)
  • Web development frameworks (Django, Rails, Spring Boot)
  • Markup languages such as HTML, XML, and XSL
  • Defect tracking, testing, and debugging
  • Git (GitHub), and Perforce
  • Security technologies such as OAuth, SSL, or TLS
  • PC/CPU architecture, embedded systems, and microcontrollers
