Internship Program Overview
Our interns and co-ops are GF’s entry-level talent pipeline across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with meaningful work experience that equips them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. Summary of Role
GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated Process & Equipment Engineering interns to become part of our state-of-the-art 300mm factory.
Essential Responsibilities Include
In your role as an Engineering Intern, you will work with an assigned engineer to:
- Reduce variability in the process recovery procedures.
- Increase the ability to detect problems earlier, including enhancement in LOD.
- Reduce the cost of chemicals and/or qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across like equipment.
- Enhance process performance measurement techniques.
- Lead improvement projects and present results.
- Collaborate with equipment and maintenance teams, including engineers, technicians, managers, and production employees, in a dynamic environment.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications
- At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field through an accredited degree program during the time of the internship.
- At least an overall 3.0 GPA and in good academic standing.
- English fluency (written and verbal).
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, including the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter and navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Ability to understand complex automated systems and human interactions.
- SPC Controls experience.
Expected Salary Range
$20.00 - $40.00 per hour. The exact salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
