Equity Capital Markets Analyst

What is the opportunity?

When companies need to raise equity capital—whether through an IPO, a follow-on offering, or a convertible—ECM is at the center of it. As an Analyst on our Equity Capital Markets desk, you’ll sit at the intersection of Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, and the equity markets, helping corporate clients access capital at the right time and on the right terms.

What will you do?

  • Support the origination and execution of equity transactions, including IPOs, follow-ons, block trades, convertible bonds, and similar offerings.
  • Build and maintain market intelligence tools, including ECM transaction databases, comparable offering analyses, valuation benchmarks, and investor demand trackers.
  • Draft pitchbooks, market update presentations, and deal roadshow materials.
  • Monitor equity market conditions daily and synthesize trading dynamics, sector flows, and investor sentiment into actionable client advice.
  • Coordinate with teams across Origination, Syndicate, Sales, and Trading to market, price, and allocate transactions.
  • Interface with legal, compliance, and external counsel on transaction execution.
  • Prepare thought pieces on ECM market trends for internal and client-facing use.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Sharp quantitative skills, with comfort in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to distill complex market dynamics into a clear narrative.
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Team-first mentality.

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reach our potential, make a difference in our communities, and achieve success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program, including competitive compensation and flexible benefits, such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions, health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and paid time off.
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities.
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact.
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.
  • Opportunities to do challenging work.
  • Opportunities to build close relationships with clients.

The expected salary range for this particular position is $110,000 - $135,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions, and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC’s discretionary variable compensation program which provides an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
