IFI Emerging Markets Summer Internship – Early Careers Overview

Ready to make your mark in the world of investments? Spend an unforgettable summer at Invesco alongside a select group of driven students. Our 9-week Summer Internship Program kicks off in June 2027 and offers the chance to dive into the fast-paced world of investments, learn from industry professionals, and build connections that will last a lifetime.

In this internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience, one-on-one mentorship, and insight into what it’s really like to work at a global investment firm. As part of a Summer Internship Program cohort, you will have initiatives throughout the summer, including orientation, networking events, development workshops, and volunteer activities. You’ll work side-by-side with talented teams to learn about the business.

Crush your internship, and you could be eligible for a full-time offer to join our Early Career Program after graduation.

What you will do

• Attend Emerging Markets fixed income team meetings, complete assigned projects within established timelines, and present findings to management.
• Support the team in researching EM countries, financial statements, and market data.
• Join regular EM team meetings to understand our top-down macro investment process and performance metrics, including the portfolio manager, client portfolio manager, risk, and research teams.
• Prepare presentations, summaries, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Seek feedback and guidance from mentors and team members to support learning and growth.
• Participate in training sessions and networking opportunities to further develop your technical and professional skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and be a rising Junior graduating by summer of 2028.
• Minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
• All majors are welcome, with an emphasis on Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a Business-related field.
• A demonstrated interest in investments.
• Must be able to work in Invesco’s New York office.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. Invesco does not offer employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program and will not provide assistance or sign documentation supporting other forms of immigration sponsorship or benefit, including optional practical training (OPT) or curricular practical training (CPT).
• Relocation and housing will not be included if an offer is extended. This position is based in New York.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with creative problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Experience prioritizing work and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior internship in investment management (preferred but not required).
• Experience gathering and interpreting market data.
• Intermediate proficiency with Python, SQL, Power BI, Bloomberg Terminal, R Studio, or Excel (preferred).

Compensation

Compensation for this position is $40/hr.
