Investments – Bank Loans Summer Internship (Early Careers)

Ready to make your mark in the world of investments? Spend an unforgettable summer at Invesco alongside a select group of driven students. Our 9-week Summer Internship Program kicks off in June 2027 and offers you the chance to dive into the fast-paced world of investments, learn from industry pros, and build connections that will last a lifetime.

In this internship, you’ll get hands-on experience, one-on-one mentorship, and the inside scoop on what it’s really like to work at a global investment firm. As part of a Summer Internship Program cohort, you will have a variety of initiatives to keep you engaged throughout the summer, including orientation, networking events, development workshops, and volunteer activities. You’ll work side-by-side with talented teams to learn about the business.

Crush your internship, and you could be eligible for a full-time offer to join our Early Career Program after graduation.

What you will do

This internship is specifically for the broadly syndicated bank loan team within Invesco Senior Secured Management (ISSM). ISSM is a $46 billion private credit platform and a subsidiary of Invesco Ltd., an independent asset manager with $1.5 trillion in assets and more than 7,000 employees worldwide.

  • Work with the team to build knowledge of the leveraged finance, CLO, and high yield bond markets. Learn to analyze investment opportunities and make investment decisions within those sectors.
  • Develop credit analysis and financial modeling skills to assist in the preparation of credit proposals, including company and industry analysis, capital structure analysis, cash flow projections, and evaluation of creditworthiness.
  • Assist in the ongoing monitoring and review of existing transactions, including historical financial analysis, cash flow modeling and projections, industry analysis, and assessments of internal and external ratings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on assigned tasks and initiatives.
  • Attend team meetings, complete assigned projects within established timelines, and present findings to management.
  • Prepare presentations, summaries, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Seek feedback and guidance from mentors and team members to support learning and growth.
  • Support the team in researching industry trends, financial statements, and market data.
  • Participate in training sessions and networking opportunities to further develop your technical and professional skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and be a rising Junior graduating by summer of 2027.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
  • All majors are welcome with an emphasis on Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a business-related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in investments.
  • Must be able to work in Invesco’s New York office.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. Invesco does not offer employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program, and will not provide assistance or documentation in support of other immigration sponsorship or benefits, including OPT or CPT.
  • Relocation and housing will not be included if an offer is extended.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with creative problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Experience prioritizing work and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Prior internship in investment management (preferred but not required).
  • Experience gathering and interpreting market data.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Python, C++, Racket, Java, JavaScript, SQL, Power BI, Bloomberg Terminal, R Studio, or Excel (preferred).

  • Compensation: $40/hr.

  • Workplace Model: Pursuant to Invesco’s Workplace Policy, employees are expected to comply with the firm’s most current workplace model, which as of October 1, 2025, includes spending at least four full days each week working in an Invesco office.
