WeiXin Group (WXG) is responsible for the construction and operation of the Weixin ecosystem, leveraging Weixin’s open platforms such as Official Accounts, Mini Programs, Weixin Pay, WeCom, and search. WXG provides solutions and connectivity for intelligent upgrades across all industries. WXG is also responsible for the development and operation of QQ Mail, WeRead, and other products.

What the Role Entails

About WeChat Pay

WeChat Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service integrated within the WeChat app, launched by Tencent in 2013. It enables users to make secure payments via QR codes, transfer money, pay bills, and shop online. WeChat Pay is expanding internationally to build a larger network of merchants and increase convenience for WeChat users globally. With over 1.3 billion users worldwide, WeChat is changing the mobile landscape by connecting people, services, and businesses through a seamless experience within the WeChat ecosystem—supporting both everyday transactions and larger purchases.

Responsibilities

• Business Operations: Collaborate with Business Development (BD) to strengthen customer relationships and explore business opportunities. Facilitate cooperation with Key Account (KA) merchants or institutions regarding access, materials, and activities.
• Market Research:
  • Store Inspection: Conduct on-site visits to assess the material deployment of offline stores.
  • Market Dynamics: Regularly gather key market information through online research, industry reports, and on-site visits to assess and compare payment health.
  • User Research: Conduct on-site visits or online surveys to collect statistics on user penetration and user experience.
• Material Deployment: Arrange on-site material deployment for areas or scenarios not easily covered by institutions.
• Business Communication: Support communications to explain product updates and opportunities with business partners, such as merchants, banks, fintechs, government entities, and companies.
• Collaboration Exploration: Build collaborations with university clubs, key commercial areas, and other partners to drive user community marketing penetration; observe consumption in situ; conduct research, statistical analysis, and explore cooperation opportunities within the WeChat ecosystem.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic, energetic personality.
• Bilingual proficiency in both English and Mandarin, as communications with global and HQ teams are conducted in both languages.
• Strong project management and execution skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality summary and analysis reports.
• Self-motivated and self-managed, able to independently and proactively complete assigned tasks.
• Familiarity with the WeChat and WeChat Pay product ecosystem, understanding of payment industry operations, and preferably experience in industry operations, merchant operations, or channel management with successful project outcomes.
