Purpose of the Role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. This role serves as a bridge between the bank’s offerings and clients’ needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.

Accountabilities

  • Manage client relationships to identify clients’ financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance. Use data from various sources—including the investment portfolio and cash flow—to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement, and additional services to support client needs.
  • Research and understand clients’ industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Design customised solutions aligned to clients’ needs and objectives, incorporating products and services from the bank’s portfolio.
  • Communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms beneficial to both the client and the bank.
  • Provide guidance to support clients’ financial decisions, including expert investment advice, risk management, wealth management strategy support, and updates on market trends to maintain a positive, continuous relationship.
  • Assess financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implement measures to minimise potential losses.
  • Document all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development, service offerings, and overall bank strategy.
  • Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.

Team and Role Overview

Join Barclays as an International Corporate Bank Industrials Group Analyst. In this role, you will support the day-to-day execution of corporate banking transactions by performing financial analysis, preparing and maintaining financial models, and assisting with transaction approvals and internal coordination. You will develop high-quality client presentations, pitch books, and meeting materials while ensuring the accuracy and quality of deliverables. You will conduct company and industry research, evaluate financial information, and support coverage efforts by collaborating with internal partners and cross-functional teams. Working closely with Associates and senior bankers, you will participate in client calls, prepare follow-ups, and contribute to transaction execution while gaining exposure to client interactions.

Required Experience

To be successful in the International Corporate Bank Industrials Group Analyst role, you should have experience with:

  • Front-office coverage within a corporate bank, investment bank, a major financial institution, or a comparable financial services organization.
  • Supporting transaction execution, including financial analysis, financial modeling, and preparation of client deliverables.
  • Building and maintaining financial models in Excel and creating high-quality presentations and pitch books in PowerPoint.
  • Reviewing financial statements, corporate finance concepts, and banking products to support client transactions.
  • Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with attention to detail, strong execution skills, and the ability to contribute quickly with minimal supervision.

Highly Valued Skills

  • Previous experience supporting Corporate Banking, Investment Banking Coverage, or other execution-focused banking teams.
  • Exposure to the Industrials, Chemicals, or Metals & Mining sectors.
  • Professional licenses such as the SIE, Series 79, or Series 63, or willingness to obtain them after joining.
  • Experience participating in client meetings and preparing presentation materials.
  • Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in corporate banking.

  • May be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, including risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills.
  • Location: New, NY.
  • Regulated by FINRA.

Compensation

  • Minimum Salary: $75,000
  • Maximum Salary: $125,000
