Associate - Facultative Technical Assistant

About the Role

Howden Re is the global reinsurance broker and risk, capital, & strategic advisor focused on relentless innovation and superior analytics for top client service. As we continue to build out our US Facultative business, we are looking for individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset to join us on this ambitious journey of growth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support brokers across the team
• Create pre- and post-placement materials
• Construct reinsurance submission materials
• Track reinsurer quotes, authorizations, and communication
• Build client presentations in PowerPoint
• Review and edit documents such as large datasets in Excel and reinsurance contracts
• Quantify the impact of various reinsurance structures on individual large losses and/or insurance company financials
• Research market trends
• Work independently and as a member of a team

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a reinsurance, underwriting, or related position and environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a business-related field
• Interest in pursuing a career within reinsurance
• Proactive, creative, and analytical mindset; able to work independently and within a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Desire and interest in opportunities involving client-related tasks
• Ability to apply mathematical thinking in a business and insurance environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Strong time management and project management skills
• Detail-oriented
• Highly motivated and committed to continually developing professional skills
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation and Classification

The expected annual salary for this role is $80,000-$100,000; actual salary will be determined based on factors including candidate experience and work location. This role is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
