The Team

A&M’s Restructuring and Insolvency practice provides critical assistance to companies that are under-performing or experiencing a liquidity crisis. Working directly with company management, A&M helps stabilize financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvements. A&M’s involvement also reassures creditors that the company is taking important steps to address its challenges and maximise its value.

In addition, members of the Restructuring and Insolvency practice are regularly appointed to administer judicial management and winding up of companies.

A&M is rapidly expanding in Southeast Asia and is seeking to hire Intern-level candidates in its Restructuring Practice. Based in Singapore, you will apply analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting and finance to a diverse range of complex assignments focused on all aspects of financial and operational restructuring and turnaround initiatives, both in and out of bankruptcy or distressed situations.

How You Will Contribute

  • Work with various client stakeholders involved in corporate insolvency and restructuring, including judicial management, receivership, and formal and informal insolvency processes.
  • Assist in the preparation and day-to-day administration of client affairs, including recovery of assets, fulfilling statutory obligations, adjudicating claims, and investigating past transactions.
  • Gather, analyze, and organize large data sets that may be unorganized and incomplete.
  • Utilize Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other applications to support preparation of client deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Penultimate year students studying for a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business.
  • Excellent financial modelling skills and ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and other preferred language, including but not limited to Mandarin or Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of client personnel.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and challenging work environment.
  • Interested in an internship, or alternatively can work 2–3 days per week.
  • High energy, autonomous, and “get-it-done” mindset with an entrepreneurial approach.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, challenging, and unpredictable environment, looking beyond constraints for solutions.
  • Brings a sense of fun and achievement to the work and the team.
