As an M&A Investment Banking Experienced Analyst, you’ll work in a team setting to provide clients with objective advice on M&A and corporate financing alternatives through highly focused industry teams with world-class, global execution capabilities. You’ll be an important part of our diversely talented, highly experienced team and work at the forefront of high-profile transactions. You’ll be working in a small and collaborative team environment with investment banking professionals on a variety of projects across Industrial sub-sectors including Aerospace & Defense, Energy, Construction and Chemicals.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support and execute M&A and corporate finance engagements as a vital member of the team.
  • Analyze financial data and identify key trends behind the performance of a business.
  • Prepare financial models and cash flow scenarios; conduct research and drive analyses.
  • Develop marketing presentations and information memoranda; assist in developing team members’ careers.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Advise companies on strategic and corporate finance alternatives and drive the execution of M&A transactions.
  • Prepare pitch books, information memoranda and related materials for M&A and capital-raising mandates.
  • Perform extensive financial and valuation analyses and pro forma modeling.
  • Identify key issues and potential areas of valuation and transaction risk.
  • Conduct in-depth market-sector and company-specific research.
  • Support business development initiatives.

To qualify for the role

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 1 year of prior experience in investment banking or similar M&A execution experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel for financial modeling, including pivot tables and in-depth modeling.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
  • Efficient use of research databases and technical ability to analyze data.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal abilities to develop and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • You must reside in or be within commutable distance to the office location; willingness to travel and work beyond standard hours when necessary.

Ideally, you will have

  • Existing Series 7 and/or 79 plus Series 63 securities licenses (in good standing) is a plus.
  • A proven record of excellence in investment banking with a focus on M&A transactions.
  • Experience in or interest in the Industrials sector.
  • Knowledge of leveraging firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

Base salary range for this role in all US locations is $100,000 to $125,000, with total rewards including medical/dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and ample paid time off. Salaries are determined by factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.

Join our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Most external, client-serving roles are expected to work in person 40-60% of the time over an engagement, project, or year. We operate under a flexible vacation policy, with time off for EY paid holidays, seasonal breaks, personal/family care, and other leaves as needed for well-being.
