Job Description
The Associate – Securitization Private Origination, Specialty Finance is responsible for supporting the Asset Securitization Group of TD Securities (USA) LLC. This position will support the Specialty Finance division in New York by supporting the structuring, underwriting, and execution of specialty finance securitizations and secured lending facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the structuring, underwriting, and execution of specialty finance securitizations and secured lending facilities.
- Analyze collateral performance, credit quality, concentration risks, and historical loss trends to assess transaction risk and sizing.
- Build and maintain cash flow, borrowing base, and stress-testing models used for underwriting, credit approvals, and investor discussions.
- Review transaction documents and summarize key structural features, covenants, triggers, and risk mitigants.
- Prepare credit memoranda, transaction summaries, and internal approval materials.
- Coordinate with clients, legal counsel, rating agencies, investors, and internal teams throughout transaction execution and closing.
- Assist with due diligence, including collateral data analysis, portfolio reviews, and reconciliation of reporting packages.
- Monitor existing transactions, including collateral performance, covenant compliance, trigger testing, and portfolio trends.
- Support annual reviews, amendments, renewals, and new issuance opportunities across the portfolio.
- Develop client presentations, market updates, and specialty finance sector analysis to support origination efforts.
- Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and modeling automation initiatives.
- Demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices.
Depth & Scope
- Provides enhanced and detailed analytical support to the Debt Capital Markets Originations New York partners in developing the bank’s Debt Capital Markets Origination clients in the U.S., ensuring underwriting positions and swap exposures are within approved limits while maintaining and enhancing the bank’s profile and market share.
- Contributes to the strategic objectives of Debt Capital Markets and recommends new opportunities for client development.
- Consults with the bank’s other operations in Canada, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the U.S. to assist in meeting the firm’s objectives.
- Adheres personally and at a desk level to the firm’s procedures.
- Understands and complies with TD Securities (USA) policies and regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring transactions are fully documented and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintains specialized knowledge of market data, economic information, key industry developments, and regulatory standards to help maximize profitability through sound business decisions.
- Develops and maintains contacts with market participants and supports syndicate operations by supplying market information to partners within the TD global DCM group.
- Practices and communicates bank policy information and strategy between your product head and relevant DCM personnel.
- Demonstrates governance, control, and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices.
Education & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics.
- Series 7 and 63.
- 0-3 years of related experience.
- Proficient in interpersonal communication (oral and written) with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
