Role Overview
The Commodities Quantitative Research and PM Engagement team works with portfolio managers, with a specific focus on portfolio risk and optimization. The team delivers analytics and provides actionable insights and best practices that support business growth and enhance profitability.
The Commodities Quantitative Analyst works alongside investment teams to develop quantitative models and analytical tools for portfolio risk analysis and portfolio construction. This role is key to improving profitability and scalability across the Commodities business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance quantitative frameworks and models for portfolio risk and portfolio optimization.
- Conduct quantitative analysis and share insights with portfolio managers and business management.
- Partner with investment teams to assess fundamentals, evaluate trade risk, and support investment decisions.
- Contribute to best practices in risk analysis, portfolio construction, and quantitative research across the Commodities platform.
Qualifications
- Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of experience.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, financial engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience as a quantitative analyst, strategist, or risk quant in a commodity trading firm, bank, or hedge fund.
- Strong foundation in statistics, time series analysis, and quantitative modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Compensation (NY, CA, IL)
For NY, CA, and IL-based applicants, the starting base pay range for this role is between USD 150,000 and USD 175,000 annually. The actual base pay depends on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, business needs, and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus compensation and employee benefits.
