Programme Overview

The Singapore Student Work Placement lasts 5 months and allows you to apply your academic knowledge in a real banking environment, make meaningful contributions to teams, and build the professional and personal skills you’ll need for your future career.

High-performing individuals may have the opportunity to be converted to our Singapore Apprenticeship Programme upon graduation in 2027.

Programme Details

• Placement period: September 2026 to February 2027
• Duration: 5–6 months
• For: Final year Polytechnic students from any discipline
• Areas: International Wealth and Premier Banking, Corporate and Institutional Banking, and Group Infrastructure

What You’ll Do

You’ll gain hands-on exposure to real HSBC projects, develop workplace confidence, and build skills such as teamwork, communication, organisation, and stakeholder interaction. You’ll learn from experienced professionals and gain valuable insight into how HSBC operates day-to-day.

Across 20–24 weeks, you will:

• Gain practical experience that complements your academic studies
• Take on real responsibilities and contribute to meaningful projects
• Apply both your behavioural skills and academic knowledge to create value for HSBC
• Be recognised for who you are and the contribution you make
