What you’ll do

The Collections Specialist supports a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department through collection calls and/or correspondence.

  • Manage collections for assigned accounts by proactively contacting clients via telephone, email, and written correspondence to achieve collection targets.
  • Issue statements and copy invoices to clients when requested.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the status of all accounts receivable for each customer, identifying potential issues that may prevent or delay payment for services.
  • Build effective, cooperative relationships with internal and external customers, including weekly and monthly reporting to the Corporate Credit and Collections Manager.
  • Work closely with the Associate Manager and Credit & Collections Manager, providing timely weekly updates.
  • Proactively resolve issues within assigned accounts by partnering with other departments (including billing, revenue team, order management, business development, and account managers) as needed.
  • Escalate to the management team when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
  • Prepare and process payment proposals, manual payments, and customer refunds, ensuring approvals, uploads, and signatures are completed on time and in full.
  • Maintain client receivable ledgers by processing account adjustments, small balance write-offs, customer reconciliations, and credit memos (after proper approval is obtained).
  • Respond to audit queries in a timely manner.
  • Support cash allocation by obtaining remittance advice to enable allocation of clients’ payments.
  • Participate in team planning meetings.
  • Meet defined department goals and activity metrics.
  • Provide department cover when required.
  • Attend customer visits when required.

Who you are

  • 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume, high-pressure credit and collections role, preferably within the ad-tech, tech, and/or media industries.
  • May be studying towards an NCM or CICM qualification.
  • Experience working in a global collections team across different regions and currencies.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud.
  • Previous debt management and collections software experience would be advantageous (e.g., FIS GetPaid).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams and levels of the organization.
  • Sound judgment, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Initiative-taking, with an analytical perspective and strong numerical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of partners to deliver exceptional, high-quality results.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload with competing priorities.
  • Personable, approachable, and hands-on, with a practical, can-do attitude and no ego.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to liaise across multiple international locations.
