Backend Developer with Java

Job Description

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and support of technology solutions in a collaborative Agile environment. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions while supporting continuous improvement and effective team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and backend services
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative software delivery
• Support technical discussions, solution design, code reviews, and implementation activities
• Promote adherence to established development standards, quality practices, and team delivery objectives
• Identify and help resolve technical issues, risks, and delivery impediments
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team environment
• Monitor application performance and support troubleshooting and issue resolution activities
• Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process enhancements and best practices

Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in software engineering, including backend development and/or full-stack development
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and familiarity with Agile principles and practices
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), coding standards, testing practices, and version control
• Experience with backend development technologies, including Java and Spring Boot
• Familiarity with data engineering concepts, data processing, and integration technologies is advantageous
• Understanding of digital banking, internet banking, retail banking, or related financial services domains is beneficial
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage priorities and contribute to multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment
