Corporate Finance
The Houlihan Lokey Corporate Finance business has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defense, and other related advisory services for a broad range of clients. In addition, we have the proven ability to engineer and execute financing solutions that are essential for growth and success and offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities. In EMEA, we work with a wide spectrum of companies, from middle-market privately owned enterprises to large multinational organizations. Scope
This internship is a unique opportunity to work alongside our Hong Kong investment bankers in a stimulating environment, gaining experience in cross-border M&A and other private transactions of U.S.-listed Chinese companies.
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job training. Throughout your internship you will get similar levels of exposure as a first-year analyst, supporting deal execution, industry and company research, preparation of materials for clients in Chinese, and general project support. Furthermore, you will gain experience in financial modelling, valuation analyses, supporting due diligence processes, and other ad-hoc tasks.
Responsibilities
- Support deal execution and project workflows for cross-border transactions.
- Conduct industry and company research and assist in preparation of client materials (in Chinese).
- Assist with financial modelling, valuation analyses, and due diligence processes.
- Provide general project support and collaborate with deal teams as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Full fluency in verbal and written English and Mandarin required.
- Available to start in October 2026, for either a 3-month or 6-month internship.
- A strong academic track record from a highly regarded university – near completing or having recently graduated from university.
- Prior internship experience in a leading investment bank, private equity firm or corporate investment department is preferred.
- Candidates able to work five days per week onsite are highly preferred.
- Quick learner with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and modelling capabilities with knowledge of corporate finance.
- Skilled in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Capital IQ, Mergermarket).
