Overview
The RISQ division contributes to the development of the SG Group's activity by facilitating the objectives of the Business Lines while maintaining independent oversight through risk evaluation and monitoring. The RISQ division in the US supports all activities in the Americas Region (US, Canada and Latin America), which are almost exclusively related to the Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) activities.
In the Americas, the Credit Risk division of the Risk Department oversees all credit risk-taking in SGUS lending and trading activities. This includes approving exposure requests submitted by the business lines; providing an objective and independent view of exposures to watch lists or default-rated obligors and the optimum strategies to be pursued in their management; and analyzing the portfolio quality.
Responsibilities
Within the Credit Risk Portfolio Management & Governance (CRE/PMG) team of the Americas Credit Risk department, responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Continuously enhance SGUS Credit Risk processes and systems using coding languages and the latest technologies to:
- streamline and optimize process efficiency
- actively contribute to the digital transformation of Credit Risk processes and monitoring
- build risk dashboards and reports to improve risk monitoring or better emphasize tracking of Key Risk and Performance Indicators
- Work closely with the Credit Analysis Group and the Asset Restructuring & Recovery Management teams to:
- develop a solid understanding of credit risk metrics
- understand their processes and practices
- perform governance-related tasks with the teams
- assist the teams in tasks requiring transversal coordination
- challenge established processes and optimize production processes
- Produce daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly controls and reports to ensure effectiveness and compliance of SGUS Credit Risk processes, including but not limited to Legal Lending Limit controls, Large Regulatory Exposures, and Credit Triggers back testing
- Contribute to the coordination of committees and meetings involving Front-Office, Middle-Office, and Risk departments
- Assist in addressing Internal/External Audit and Regulatory requests, and participate in remediation actions
- Contribute actively to key Credit Risk, Transversal and Regulatory projects requiring:
- transversal coordination and liaison between different stakeholders in the US, Europe, and Asia
- strong technology and system understanding to liaise efficiently with key stakeholders, including the Information Systems department
