What a College Intern – Industrial Designer does at HP:

• Create and translate new design and experience ideas into sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and models.
• Work alongside a User Experience designer/intern on a project.
• Understand and experience how HP's Global Experience and Design division operates.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP usually possess:

• Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design.
• Ability to design for physical hardware products and systems based on established design principles and in accordance with design research, strategy, practices, and guidelines.
• Ability to distill research findings and data, with a strong understanding and experience in implementing and creating design proposals through sketches, storyboards, models, and prototypes.
• Ability to evaluate designs and make recommendations for improvements to designs and technology to enhance product quality and overall industrial design.
• Experience applying design theories, principles, and concepts to information technology and consumer product design.
• Ability to apply and effectively utilize 2-D and 3-D CAD tools and software packages for product design; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to commit to 5–6 months or longer, starting from July 2026 onwards.
