Overview

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Forklift Operator to join our corrugated sheet feeder facility in Batavia, NY. Our plant manufactures and supplies high-quality corrugated sheets used to produce packaging and shipping containers for a wide range of industries. You will operate a sit-down forklift, support production, and help maintain safe, efficient operations.

What You Will Do

• Operate a 10,000 lb. sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers
• Ensure accurate record keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards
• Pull whip and raw material for production support
• Verify receipts, load sheets, and other required paperwork

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience operating a forklift, clamp truck, or other similar equipment

Preferred Experience

• Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry

Shift & Compensation

Shift: Currently hiring for 2nd shift only. The first (2–4) weeks of orientation will be on 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM), then you will be assigned to your shift after orientation. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

• Shift Hours:
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed

Pay: $24.00 per hour. There is a 3rd shift differential of $1.50 per hour where applicable, bringing potential total to $25.50 per hour. Compensation may increase based on skills and performance. Orientation details may affect initial shift assignment.
