About The Role

Corporate Finance is a dominant industry leader in Asia, especially in restructuring (in-court and out-of-court), independent financial advisory, corporate liquidations and receiverships. The Corporate Finance segment of FTI Consulting provides complete support in turnaround and restructuring, transaction advisory services and corporate recovery.

What You’ll Do

  • Participate in strategic planning of engagements and potential engagements.
  • Participate in Corporate Finance and Restructuring direction and strategy.
  • Utilize advanced accounting knowledge and logical reasoning skills to provide complete client services.
  • Project management including drafting letters of engagement, billing and coordination with client contacts.
  • Work to ensure a quality product, as well as deliver all work within established timeframes.
  • Prepare draft reports, presentations and other deliverables for third parties, setting out findings and/or results of the agreed scope of work.
  • Interact directly with clients including lawyers and senior accounting personnel.
  • Track progress of cases and monitor workflow of different matters.
  • Coordinate and assist senior members of the team to ensure the timely completion of engagements.
  • Supervise, coach and train junior members of staff.
  • Contribute to management of the Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice through active involvement in practice development activities and develop professional network.
  • Assist with developing and managing a project’s scope, timeline, tasks, resources and time/cost estimate.
  • Build relationships internally across different segments to cross-sell services to clients.
  • Actively pursue marketing and business development opportunities for the firm.
  • Assist senior members of the team with research and preparation of pitches and proposals.
  • Maintain a professional image within the firm and project it to those outside the firm.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in capital markets advisory.
  • Experience in Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, M&A, Bond Syndication or other transactions advisory work in a bank would be preferred. Similar experience in a consultancy environment would be an absolute advantage.
  • CFA, SFC licenses holder, CPA or other relevant qualifications would be an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to draft and write expert reports (written and spoken Mandarin preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle and analyse complex financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Financial Sponsors and Private Credit is an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal insolvency process, including relevant laws and practices.
  • Financial modelling skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity and a high level of professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel when requested.
