Summary
We are seeking a digital product management professional with a background in financial services to join our Digital Trading and Investing Team. The candidate will have knowledge of mutual funds, ETFs, insurance, and alternative investments, and experience collaborating with Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Technology. Key skills include strong written and verbal communication, digital product development, project management, and problem-solving.
We are looking for a team-based, results-oriented, customer-focused individual who embraces change and demonstrates empathy for a customer’s overall financial planning needs. The role will design customer-focused solutions based on customer feedback, competitive trends, and business results.
The individual will help advance our digital trading and investing strategy by shaping and delivering a differentiated, needs-based product offering. The role focuses on developing solutions, tools, and customer education to improve the end-to-end investing journey and strengthen the Firm’s position in the digital investing landscape. The candidate must assess the needs of self-directed investors, propose solutions, evaluate cost, benefit and risk, define business specifications, and collaborate in an agile team to manage project rollouts.
Responsibilities
- Write user stories to develop new digital trading and investing products or enhance existing ones to improve customer engagement, retention, and business reporting and tracking; drive implementation.
- Collaborate with Technology to design new product solutions and manage product rollouts in a planned, timely manner.
- Research and analyze customer demand and market opportunities; understand the competitive landscape to identify enhancements, build the business case, and define success metrics.
- Lead product development from concept to implementation in an agile environment; define requirements, determine positioning and targeting, and develop marketing and sales approaches.
- Monitor the competitive and wealth management industry trends. Work with Data Analytics to gather customer, industry, and business data to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Design and Technology to deliver best-in-class user experiences for new or enhanced products and services.
- Act as a subject matter expert in digital trading and investing products.
- Manage vendor relationships, including joint strategy development with vendors, planning marketing activities, solving customer issues, and developing new products with vendors.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience within financial services in product management, project management, or a similar role.
- Strategic and creative thinking to design solutions that meet client needs through online and offline channels.
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across functions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts to cross-functional partners and senior audiences.
- Customer empathy is essential.
- Experience with digital customer experiences is a plus. Knowledge of financial products such as life insurance, mutual funds, ETFs, stocks, and bonds is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects; experience with product strategy design, product launches, and regulatory changes is preferred.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (UX, Technology, Marketing, Operations).
- Understanding of the Agile development framework.
Education, Certifications and Training
- BA/BS in business, finance, management, marketing or related field preferred.
- Experience with Agile methodology and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
- Series 7 and industry designations such as CRPC, CISP, CFP are a plus.

Expected base pay rates for the role are between $58,000 and $115,000 per year at commencement. Base pay is individualized and may be supplemented by commissions, incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other Morgan Stanley benefit programs.
