Overview
Startup Solutions Architects work with AWS customers to help them maximize the value of the Cloud. They engage with startups at various stages, supporting the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS. They understand customer business needs and provide prescriptive guidance on creating business value with technology. Solutions Architects also contribute at scale by creating and presenting technical content and best practices.
In this role you will practice creativity, linking technology to tangible solutions and educating AWS customers about the art of the possible. You will produce cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases and have the opportunity to grow deep expertise in industry and technology areas. You will learn daily from customers, peers, and your own experiments.
You will be part of a team responsible for driving adoption of AWS technologies while delivering differentiated value to customers. This team is dedicated to Startups—an important and growing subset of AWS customers. Startups follow unique technology adoption patterns and growth trajectories, so you will employ engagement strategies and programs tailored to their business needs and technical preferences.

Key Responsibilities
- As a Solutions Architect, work directly with customers to accelerate their projects and recommend best-practice architectures aligned with their long-term business outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor for startups. The customer’s best interests shape the guidance provided. Work backward from their priorities and find inventive ways to add value with solutions utilizing AWS and its Partners’ technology.
- Capture and share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for AWS. Use customer understanding to contribute to the creation or updates of technical content and reference architectures (e.g., white papers, code samples, blog posts).
- Evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g., workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).

A Day in the Life
The Solutions Architect team helps customers successfully implement cloud technologies. In a typical week you will meet multiple customers and collaborate with them on designing and operating well-architected solutions. You will earn their trust and illustrate the art of the possible, educating them about AWS capabilities. Partner with internal teams and experts, leveraging deep knowledge of tools and products to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address business problems. You will have opportunities to continuously learn and innovate daily.

The AWS Startup Solutions Architecture team is dedicated to working with startup companies as they build and scale their businesses. We ensure they deploy the best, most scalable, and most secure architectures while minimizing time and cost. Basic Qualifications
- Experience in technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent, or practical technical engineering experience.
- Fluent in English (speaking, writing, reading).
- Background in Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering, or DevOps.
- A passion for technology and for learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer-facing roles.
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect) or a similar cloud certification.
- Experience designing, building, refactoring, or operating large-scale IT systems—on premises or in the cloud.
- Knowledge of a modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, Go, .NET, Java, etc.) and/or scripting, Infrastructure as Code.
- In-depth knowledge in a technology domain such as distributed internet-scale web or mobile applications, DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, enterprise workloads (SAP, VMware, Windows, etc.), high-performance databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), complex networking, and highly secured workloads.
