Global Spread Products - In-Business Risk / Trading - Analyst

Role

The Global Spread Products (GSP) In-Business Risk (IBR) desk is the Front Office team responsible for monitoring and managing in-business market, counterparty, and capital risk across all of GSP. The team also analyzes capital usage to optimize the business’s return on capital. GSP covers trading across corporate credit, mortgages, and other securitized product asset classes. GSP IBR is seeking an exceptionally motivated individual to support the desk’s mission as it grows in scope and size.

Responsibilities

• Managing market risk concerns related to the business’s aggregated risk appetite and risk limits
• Computing capital for the overall GSP business, understanding related models, and collaborating with trading desk heads to optimize capital usage
• Working with Risk, Finance, Quants, and IT to enhance existing models and automate manual processes; collaborating with stakeholders to improve risk and capital infrastructure

Required skills

• Strong ability and interest to learn and understand new asset classes
• Strong ability to manage, prioritize, and communicate with internal partners; highest level of professionalism and business acumen
• Very strong creative problem-solving skills, ability to understand complex ideas and projects, and the ability to identify, articulate issues and advocate solutions at both high and granular levels
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines with changing priorities
• Fluency in MS Excel, VBA, and basic programming skills (e.g., Python) is preferred
• Strong attention to detail; self-motivated and inquisitive with an interest in financial markets
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; study in Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar quantitative fields preferred
