Application of Data Analytics in Semiconductor Metrology Processes

Project Description

This internship project focuses on the application of data analytics within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The intern will explore how metrology systems generate process data and study methods to extract insights that enhance manufacturing performance. The project emphasises structured learning through data-driven investigation, visualisation design, and the exploration of automated metrology systems. The intern will work on a defined analytical project to understand patterns in metrology data and uncover opportunities for process improvement.

Objective of the Project

To develop analytical models and visualisations that improve understanding of metrology data and identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency and manufacturing performance.

Opportunities for Full Time Employment

Interns demonstrating strong technical learning, problem-solving capability, and project ownership may be considered for full-time employment opportunities, subject to organisational hiring needs.

Project Scope

• Study the role of metrology within a frontend semiconductor manufacturing facility
• Explore advanced metrology techniques and their integration with automated systems
• Perform structured data analysis on metrology datasets to identify trends and performance gaps
• Design and develop data visualisation frameworks for production tracking and insight generation

Courses of Interest

• Applicants with a certification or diploma in Engineering (including Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields), Data Analytics, Information Technology, or Applied Science are encouraged to apply
