Systematica Investments

Systematica Investments was spun out of BlueCrest Capital Management's systematic trading division in September 2014 and began trading independently in January 2015, carrying the roughly $8.3 billion BlueTrend fund and a team of around 100 people under founder and CEO Leda Braga, who had led BlueCrest's systematic trading division since 2001. Assets grew to $9.2 billion within Systematica's first month as an independent firm, and Braga was reported at the time to manage more money than any other hedge fund run solely by a woman (swissinfo.ch). The firm's investment team is organised into three functional lines - research, technology and trading - with a separate product management function providing oversight. An early-career applicant is generally hired into one of those three lines rather than a generalist rotation, so it is worth targeting an application to the specific line rather than the firm as a whole.
