College Intern – Data Analytics and Procurement

What a College Intern – Data Analytics and Procurement does at HP:

• Work with an enterprising team of data scientists to build solutions to track, analyze, and visualize the manufacturing and outbound quality of supplies.
• Generate deep insights through data analysis and understanding of operational processes, and turn them into actionable recommendations.
• Develop methodologies for optimizing business processes through data visualization, real-time monitoring, and predictive analytics.
• Prior knowledge in SQL, Microsoft Office, VBA, Power BI, TensorFlow, and UI Path is advantageous.
• Lead the analysis of a specific commodity data and industry trends or lead an individual supply chain sub-category; report results to managers.
• Participate as a member of a cross-functional team.
• Meet with internal stakeholders to understand business priorities and translate them into procurement plans; comprehend the industry and the marketplace.
• Utilize supply chain and financial modeling tools.
• Participate in supplier selection activities.
• May lead activities for less complex domains.
• Assess the supply base of the category.
• Negotiate and contract with suppliers.
• Engage with low-complexity suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance.
• Execute risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management, and operation strategies.
• Identify common contract risk areas.
• Negotiate acceptable contracting outcomes using pre-packed solutions.
• Advise program-level business representatives on fundamental contract risk areas.

Qualifications

• Studying a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Statistics with strong programming experience.
• Familiarity with supply chain knowledge and systems.
• Excellent analytical thinking, programming (R/Python desirable), and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of data analytics, data warehousing, database management (preferably using SQL), and data visualization using RShiny/Plotly.
• Fundamental knowledge of statistics and probability.
• Good visualization skills to create real-time dashboards and/or reports to inform trends and insights.
• Able to commit 5-6 months full-time internship, starting around June 2026.
