Associate, Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, support, and maintain the Firm’s software solutions to support global businesses.
• Design and implement high-quality, scalable technology solutions leveraging internal and open-source services.
• Assist in requirements gathering, user story refinement, development, testing (unit, integration, and regression), UAT, and deployment.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop solution designs.
• Identify new external technologies that can transform financial businesses and internal platforms in innovative ways.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust testing suites to enable safe, complete, and scalable solutions across business lines.

Requirements

• Master’s (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in software engineering, or
• Bachelor’s (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience must include at least five of the following skills (with a Master’s degree) or five of seven if holding a Bachelor’s degree:
  • C++ or Java
  • Full software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, production support)
  • Building multi-threaded and multi-process service-oriented enterprise applications within a Unix environment
  • Programming technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
  • Relational database management systems (e.g., Sybase or Oracle)
  • Microservices architecture design and development including REST, Spring, or other back-end technologies
  • Database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies (e.g., MongoDB)

Salary

Annual base salary for this New York, New York-based position is $132,000 – $171,200.
